Brussels, 12/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Monday and Tuesday next, the Bureau of the European Parliament will examine the response to be given to the report by the Court of Auditors, on the spending of political groups at the European Parliament, on the basis of observations made by each group on the subject of remarks concerning them. It will then, after this "confidential" stage, be up to the Court of auditors to decide on publication of its report, accompanied by the reactions of those interested.
Also next week, the Bureau will examine: - a paper by British Conservative Mr Provan on the "rationalisation" of the internal work of the Parliament and MEPs: this paper will be forwarded to the political groups for an initial exchange of views on 8 June; - proposals by Secretary General Mr Priestley aimed at making the procedure for nomination of senior Parliament officials more transparent; - proposals on reform of the information policy and the Parliament communication (which should be approved); - proposals on the Louise Weiss building of the European Parliament, in Strasbourg.
