Brussels, 25/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission is to adopt a draft regulation concerning public access to documents of the European Institutions. Public access is for now governed by a code of conduct dated 1993, but the Amsterdam Treaty, in Article 255, stipulates that a regulation or a directive should, within two years after enforcement of the Treaty, give a legal base to the principles governed by the agreement.
