25/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - After opening a formal inquiry last week, the European Commission called for further information from Germany on aid of DM 275 million paid to the BRP Philipp Holzmann group (DM 150 million in loans and a State guarantee of DM 125 million). It fears that one part of the Kreditanstalt für Wideraufbau loan had already been paid without waiting for the Commission's approval.
