France's LAFARGE and the Greek building material company TITAN have launched a bid for between 40 and 76% of the Egyptian cement manufacturer AMEREYAH CEMENT COMPANY (produces 2.3 million tonnes a year). This bid beats a rival bid launched on 18 January by the Egyptian firm ORASCOM.
