Serious and detailed negotiations continue on Wednesday

Brussels, 25/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - "Chinese officials have come to Brussels to negotiate seriously", said the Commission spokesman on Tuesday after a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Wu and Commissioner Lamy to discuss Chinese accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). "It is a fortunate coincidence that the technical negotiations are taking place at the time of this visit", he added, making a distinction between the two processes.
