New stages in proceedings against Austria and Italy for barriers to free movement of certain goods

Brussels, 12/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has crossed into a new stage of infringement proceedings opened against Austria (three cases) and Italy (one case) for unjustifiably blocking the free movement of specific goods. Action has been initiated against Austria at the Court of Justice for one case and reasoned opinions have been sent to it for two others. Italy is to receive a reasoned opinion.
