The Commission takes Ireland to the Court of Justice for non-respect of the Drinking Water Directive

Brussels, 12/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided - announced the spokesperson - to introduce an action against Ireland before the Court of Justice for non-respect of the Drinking Water Directive. The Commission recognised that the Irish authorities have made noticable efforts to bring their national legislation in line with European requirements, but problems remain.
