United States intend calling for arbitration by ICAO in trade war over planes equipped with hushkit

Brussels, 12/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - According to official American sources the United States intend asking the International Commercial Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to arbitrate the conflict with the European Union over the EU ban on planes equipped with anti-noise equipment, Hushkits.

The EU intends progressively banning the use of planes, in Europe, equipped with the Hushkit, partially as of September 2001 and totally in April 2002. Under American pressure the EU postponed several...
