Europe's peripheral maritime regions call for a European sea policy capable of preventing catastrophes such as the slick caused by Erika

Brussels, 12/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Given the oil slick caused by the wreck of the tanker "Erika" off the coast of Brittany, the 126 member regions of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) have observed with bitterness and anger that the lessons of the past have not been put to practice to develop a genuine policy of prevention.
