Hybrid threats, human rights violations – European Parliament approves new grounds for suspending visa liberalisation regimes

On Tuesday, 7 October, MEPs approved – by 518 votes to 96 with 24 abstentions – the new mechanism for suspending the visa-free regimes that nationals of 61 third countries use to travel to the EU for short stays (a maximum of 90 days during any 180-day period).
