MEPs strengthen provisions on power of EU farmers

On Monday, 8 September, the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture strengthened the European Commission’s proposals aiming to improve farmers’ position in the food supply chain.

Committee members adopted (33 votes in favour, 10 against, and 5 abstentions) the draft report by Céline Imart (EPP, French) that amends the Common Market Organisation (CMO) Regulation, which still has to be examined in plenary before negotiations with the Council of the EU begin.
