European Parliament adopts partially less ambitious position than European Commission on ‘End-of-Life Vehicles’ regulation

On Tuesday 9 September, MEPs adopted the European Parliament’s position on new circularity rules for end-of-life vehicles by 431 votes to 145 with 76 abstentions.

The revision of the regulation on circularity requirements for the design of vehicles and the management of end-of-life vehicles should increase the share of the circular economy in the automotive sector, reducing its environmental footprint from production to the treatment of end-of-life vehicles.
