By adopting by a large majority (432 votes in favour, 95 against, 124 abstentions) the draft report by Piotr Müller (ECR, Polish), the European Parliament is hoping that the revision of the European directives governing public procurement in the European Union, expected in 2026, will help to simplify contract award procedures, increase the participation of SMEs and stimulate innovation while ensuring technological neutrality.
