European Commission takes Hungary to CJEU for failing to guarantee independence of its rail regulatory body

On Wednesday 7 May, the European Commission decided to refer Hungary to the Court of Justice of the European Union for failure to comply with the provisions of the Directive establishing a single European railway area (2012/34/EU), relating to the status of the national regulatory body responsible for the Hungarian railway market.
