The European Parliament adopted its own-initiative report on the Water Resilience Strategy with 470 votes in favour, 81 against and 92 abstentions, at a plenary session vote in Strasbourg on Wednesday 7 May.
Its rapporteur, Thomas Bajada (S&D, Maltese), welcomed the “bold decision” and the attitude of the European Parliament, which had chosen to influence the Commission. The large majority was achieved without the support of the Greens/EFA MEPs, who abstained or opposed.
