20/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 20 December, the European Commission launched an additional targeted consultation to gather information on the single market dimension of the future annual report on the rule of law, according to a press release. In her political guidelines for 2024-2029, President Ursula von der Leyen announced that a single market dimension would be added to the rule of law report, covering issues affecting businesses, particularly SMEs, operating across borders. The consultation is open to all interested parties, including economic players at European and national level. It complements the more general consultation previously launched on this 2025 rule of law report (see EUROPE 13536/26).
