On Friday 20 December, the European Commission welcomed the commitment made by car manufacturer Stellantis to extend to the whole of the European Union and the European Economic Area compensation for consumers who have suffered software problems linked to Adblue tanks in Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel vehicles manufactured between January 2014 and August 2020.
This decision was taken following dialogue with the European Commission and the European Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) network. The CPC network will now closely monitor how Stellantis implements its commitments. If the carmaker fails to act within the agreed deadline, national consumer protection authorities may decide to take action to ensure compliance, the EU institution warned in a statement.
The CPC network will now actively monitor how Stellantis implements its commitments. If Stellantis fails to do so within the agreed period, the national consumer protection authorities may decide to take measures to ensure compliance.
