12/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – In a report dated Friday 12 April on the exemptions provided by Member States regarding the application of Regulation No 181/2011 concerning the rights of passengers in bus and coach transport, the European Commission notes that ten countries still apply these exemptions. This regulation, adopted in 2011 and in force since 2013 (see EUROPE 10305/20), allows States to provide certain exemptions for a period of four years (until 28 February 2017) with one renewal (until 28 February 2021) concerning the rights of these passengers. While seventeen countries had exemptions within their territory in 2013, ten have decided to renew them in 2017: Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Kingdom.
