Lawyers defending European Commissioner Edith Cresson speak of unrelenting institutional harassment in empty dossier - Commission maintains argument of favouritism at highest level of institution for years

Luxembourg, 25/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Edith Cresson, 71, former European Commissioner in Santer's team between 1995 and 1999 and former French Prime Minister under François Mitterrand, attended the hearing at the European Court of Justice on 9 November being accused by the European Commission of favouritism towards two personal friends, Doctor Berthelot and business lawyer Tim Riedinger. Edith Cresson may be stripped of her pension rights as European Commissioner or have such rights...
