- Switzerland: The Swiss government, which still holds 66% of the national telecoms operator, SWISSCOM (turnover CHF 7.3 billion for 2005 with 4.17 million customers), has announced total transfer of the stake it holds. Initially, it will descend to 50% plus one vote. The sale of 16.1% of the shares should bring in CHF 4.5 billion, while sale of all shares would bring CHF 17 billion into the company's coffers.
