25/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The new orders index for industry increased by 1.1% in September 2005 in the euro zone compared to August, during which month the increase was 0.2%, after a drop of 1.5% in July. In the EU of 25, it increased by 0.6% in September, having dropped by 0.3% in August and remained stable in July. Taken annually, the increase was 4.6% in the euro zone and 5.5% in the EU of 25. Between August and September, the greatest increases were registered in Hungary (+ 9.2%), the Netherlands (+3.8%), Germany (+ 3.3%), and the greatest decreases in Malta (-6.2%), Italy (-3.8%), Sweden (-3.2%), and Denmark (-3%). Transport material increased by 4.4% in the euro zone and 8.9% in the EU of 25; as for the production of electric and electronic goods, metal and metalworking, the indicators increased by 2.8% and 1% respectively in the euro zone, but fell by 0.1% and 1.2% respectively in the EU of 25.
