25/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Speaking on Tuesday before the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs (see other article), the Bulgarian foreign minister, Ivailo Kalfin, restated his criticism of the political and judiciary authorities in Libya in the affair concerning Bulgarian medical workers condemned to death and detained in the country for the past seven years. Libya has violated human rights, “clear evidence” was not taken into account during the judgement and “torture” was used, the minister says. Libya must know that “this is something it cannot play with”, he said indignantly.
