Council postpones second reading on draft budget 2006 after breakdown of concertation with Parliament

Brussels, 25/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Finance Ministers of the Member States of the EU, meeting in Brussels on Thursday for their budget session, decided to postpone their second reading of the draft budget 2006 due to disagreements with the Parliament, mainly on the level of payment appropriations. This is the first time since the start of the current financial perspectives (2000-2006) that the concertation meeting between the Council and the EP planned at this stage of the proceedings...
