Commission considers enlargement will have beneficial effect on trade with third countries - No "legal base" for Russian demands

Brussels, 04/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission considers that Union enlargement on 1 May, when the number of Member States increases from 15 to 25, will essentially have a beneficial impact on trade. It believes transition will be smooth, without traumatic or problematic effect, including for third countries.
