The Spanish bank BBVA-BANCO BILBAO VIZCAYA ARGENTARIA has launched a take-over bid for 40.6% of the assets of its subsidiary BANCOMER, main financial group in Mexico, in an attempt to control the totality of its capital. Shares costing 12 Mexican pesos each and the deal will cost the equivalent of EUR 3.3 bn. BANCOMER manages a network of 1817 agencies, with more than 26,000 employees.
