Commissioner Barnier warns acceding countries there is still a great deal to do before they can fully benefit from Structural Funds

Brussels, 07/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission calls on the acceding countries to double their efforts to prepare to receive the EUR 22 billion of Structural and Cohesion Funds that are allocated to them for the period 2004-2006. Although "a large number of provisions" have already been taken, there is "still a great deal to be done", the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Michel Barnier, warned as he received the Ministers for Regional Policy of the new Member States...
