Scottish group RBS - ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND, second largest group in Britain, in terms of assets, has acquired the Irish FIRST ACTIVE bank in a friendly take-over costing EUR 887 million (6.20 euros per share). The RBS will pool FIRST ACTIVE business interests with those of ULSTER BANK, its local subsidiary, thus creating a new network of 263 agencies, 5500 employees and 1.3 million customers.
