President Prodi reassures Warsaw and Madrid ruling out all link between IGC and next financial perspectives

Brussels, 07/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - Commission President Romano Prodi rejected the affirmations made on Saturday in Rome (during the opening of the IGC) by German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and French President Jacques Chirac whereby the successful conclusion of the intergovernmental conference would "naturally" be linked to future negotiation on the forthcoming EU financial perspectives. Germany and France had thus hoped to warn Spain and Poland (two of the main net beneficiaries)...
