Brussels, 19/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Wim Duisenberg, is to meet the Governor of the Bank of China in Dubaï on Monday, on the fringe of the annual assemblies of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the ECB spokesperson told AFP on Friday. This informal meeting comes at a time when China is under pressure from the United States and some of its western partners, mainly in Europe, to make its currency buoyant.
