Commission proposes extension of aid to hops sector - options for further reform

Brussels, 19/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday the European Commission is expected to adopt a proposal to extend by a year (to end of 2004) aid to the hops sector. At the same time, the Commission will be presenting in a report on reform options for this sector. This could include total or partial decoupling from 2005 of Community aid which currently stands at EUR 480 per hectare.
