Parliament delegation in Moscow believes Russia will ratify Kyoto Protocol

Brussels, 19/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - In Moscow, where a delegation from the European Parliament headed by Dutch Green member Alexander Roo is seeking to convince the Duma that it should ratify the Kyoto Protocol on climate change as a matter of urgency (see EUROPE of 18 September, p.2), MEPs could not say when this procedure would be complete but gave their assurance that their Russian counterparts were not an obstacle to ratification.
