Commission launches strategy to reduce diseases linked to environmental factors - priority on child health

Brussels, 12/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Aware of the increasing numbers of diseases linked to environmental factors in Europe. In order to reverse this alarming trend the European Commission is launching a strategy to identify and reduce diseases caused by environmental factors on Union citizens, especially on children. This long term strategy is announced in a communication adopted on Wednesday on a joint initiative by Commissioners Margo Wallström (environment), Philippe Busquin (research)...
