ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) privatisation

- Greece: PETROLA (private LATSIS group) will be buying 16.65% of HELPE - HELLENIC PETROLEUM (turnover EUR 3.6 bn in 2002), with which it will merge into a single company controlling three quarters of the Greek refining market. The sales will put EUR 326 million into the state's coffers. 35% of HELPE shares as well as the management will remain in public hands.
