Giulio Tremonti assures Italian Presidency's Action Plan for promoting investment in transport will not make deficit worse

Brussels, 12/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, Italian Minister for the Economy Giulio Tremonti presented the European Action Plan for Growth to the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. Italy plans to promote growth during its EU Presidency. Announced on Tuesday in Rome (see EUROPE of 11 June, p.8), this plan focuses on the financing of major European transport and research infrastructure.
