Malta Conference stresses effectiveness of social rights depends on accessibility

Brussels, 21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The main aims of the conference organised on 14 and 15 November in Saint Julians (Malta) by the Council of Europe's Directorate General on Social Cohesion and the Maltese government were to analyse the obstacles that hamper access to social rights despite the fundamental progress made on this in Europe, and discuss concrete examples on how such obstacles can be overcome in the Member States of the Council of Europe.
