Parliament calls on Commission to avoid legal vacuum should reform package not be adopted in time

Strasbourg, 21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, on Wednesday, of the report by British Conservative Struan Stevenson, Chair of the Committee on Fisheries, on the timetable for implementation of Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), the EP regrets that the Commission had put its proposals forward late, and invites it to ensure that a legal vacuum is avoided should reform not be implemented on 1 January 2003.
