21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 14 November, the Council adopted a decision on the conditions for the co-financing of decentralised actions (at the level of Member States) of the Community education programme, "Socrates". The decision aims to introduce greater flexibility into implementation of the principle of co-financing, mainly in favour of projects developed by small institutions such as schools and adult education institutes, which generally have limited resources. The new text amends the decision establishing the second phase of the programme, which covers the period 2000-2006 with a budget of EUR 1.850 million.
