Recommendations from 80 European regions for future regional policy: goal of more simplified first and second objectives

Brussels, 21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Eighty Member State regions and accession candidate countries have adopted definitive recommendations for future regional policy. Meeting up in Pécs in Hungary on 14-15 November on the initiative of the Assembly of the European Regions (AER), Presidents, Ministers and senior civil servants called for, "a revision of the objectives and the management of European structural and cohesion policy", based on achieving Objectives 1 and 2, as well as strong...
