21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 21 November in Copenhagen Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou and Etienne Davignon, former member of the European Commission, received the special "Corporate Social Responsibility" prize for 2002 from the Danish National Network of Business Leaders. This prize is awarded every year to a personality from the public or private sector and aims to promote corporate responsibility, notably among Small and Medium Enterprises, in line with the Lisbon Strategy. The prize (a diploma and statuette) was awarded by Niels Due Jensen, President of the Network and Grundfos A/S. MEPs attended, as well as the former Danish Minister of Social Affairs, Karen Jespersen, (for the Commission's Green Book on this subject, see EUROPE 19 July 2001 p.12, and for the setting up of the European Forum on this theme, see EUROPE 16 October 2002 p.11).
