Parliament recommends cautious approach in developing European monitoring of financial markets and extension of Lamfalussy method

Strasbourg, 21/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted two resolutions on "rules for cautious monitoring" presented by the Dutch Socialist Ieke Van den Burg (by 334 vote for, 26 against with 24 abstentions) and on "regulation, monitoring and financial stability", presented by German Social Democrat, Christa Randzio-Plath, on behalf of the Economic and Monetary Committee.
