ECB opts for status quo but acknowledges having weighed at length the pros and cons of lowering key rates

Brussels, 07/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Central Bank decided to maintain its key interest rates unchanged at the end of the meeting of its Governing Council in Frankfurt on Thursday. The main refinancing operations minimum bid rates thus remain at 3.25%, the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility remain at 4.25 and 2.25 respectively.
