The French group, RHODIA, has sold off its chemical activities in Europe to US investment fund BAIN CAPITAL, for an estimated EUR 150 million. These activities (Phenol, hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate) account for an annual turnover of EUR 280 million and a staff of 460. RHODIA will hold on to a minority stake of less than 20% in these activities in order to ensure "continuity".
