Fischler meets agriculture ministers of candidate countries in Prague

Brussels, 07/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler is on visit to the Czech Republic on 7 and 8 November. He is to meet Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla, and the Foreign and Agriculture Ministers, Cyril Svoboda and Jaroslav Palas. He will also be taking part in a ministerial meeting with the agriculture ministers of candidate countries. Before his departure, he noted that, for the Czech farmers, "it is clearly better to be in the EU" than to remain outside.
