ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) breweries

Fifth largest German brewer GILDE BRAUEREI is holding discussions with three large international groups with a view to its sale, these groups are INTERBREW, HEINEKEN and SAB MILLER. 85% of the German brewery is controlled by 120 families. In 2001 its turnover was EUR 450 million with annual production of more than 440 million de litres of beer.
