ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

RWE POWER, the "energy" subsidiary of the German multi-services group RWE, has taken over control of the TAPADA Portuguese power plant acquiring, for the sum of EUR 182 million, the shares that were owned by British POWERGEN, i.e. 50%. RWE POWER already held 25% of the plant. The transaction also comprises the 75% held by POWERGEN in the company PORTUGEN, responsible for the maintenance and operation of the plant.
