Commission approves a 585 million dollar loan to complete and modernise two nuclear units intended to replace those of Chernobyl

Brussels, 13/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved a Euratom loan to the national nuclear electricity company of Ukraine, Energoatom, for the equivalent of 585 million dollars. This loan aims to partially finance the so-called "K2R4" project, aimed at completing, modernising and putting into services unit 2 of the nuclear power station of Khmelnitsky and Unit 4 of the nuclear power station of Rivine.
