ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) electrical goods

The German group BSH and the Japanese HITACHI will ally in household electrical goods via the creation of a joint venture in which the German will be the majority shareholder with 60% of the capital. Based in Thailand, this company, called BHST WASHING APPLIANCES LTD, and in which will be invested USD 5 million will manufacture washing machines for the Asian market. Its annual production will not exceed 100,000 units as of April 2001.
