Schreyer says lower agricultural spending foreseen for 2001 could convince the Council to raise the external relations ceiling by lowering the agriculture ceiling

Brussels, 31/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission considers that the reduction of EUR 932 million in agriculture market spending forecast for 2001, presented in its second amending letter to the draft 2001 budget (see yesterday's EUROPE, page 13), is a good argument in favour of revision of the financial perspectives.
