Certain restrictions on pork imports from England will soon be lifted following favourable vote in Standing Veterinary Committee

Brussels, 05/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The conditional lifting of restrictions on imports of live pigs and porcine semen from England (but not Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland), adopted by the European Commission to reduce the risk of a swine fever epidemic in the Union (see EUROPE of 16 & 17 August, p.1) is imminent.
