Green light for Cofunds, on-line sales company for retail mutual funds

Brussels, 05/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the formation of a joint-venture, Cofunds, which will sell retail mutual funds to individuals over the Internet. Cofunds is made up of four large financial groups: Jupiter International Group Plc (controlled by Commerzbank), M & G Limited (Prudential), Newhouse Capital (US Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company) and Scudder Investments Holdings Limited (Zurich Financial Services).
